Introduced in 1994 the Ramco/ Laguiole is a knife that was produced using the well- known laguiole style from the French wine-districts paired with Spyderco's well- known quality thinking and high- quality workmanship. The Spyderco Laguiole has a Mar-McBurnette frontlock and a Black Micarta handle with brass liners. The Bee on top of the knife was redesigned by Sal Glesser to make it a little more "bug- like". The knife was produced for Spyderco under the RAMCO Label in Seki City, Japan. The Laguiole was discontinued in 1995. The Laguiole by Spyderco is considered a Spyderco by some collectors and not by others. The fact that it's made by order of Spyderco and came in Spyderco boxes makes this author believe it is indeed a Spyderco, even without the trademark Spyderco hole opener in the blade.
