C279 Thyn

"Based on Michele Pensato’s popular Skinny model, the full-sized Spyderco Thyn™ expanded the horizons of that design with the user friendliness of our Trademark Round Hole™. The Thyn™ refines that concept even further, scaling it down by approximately 14 percent to offer an extremely sleek, easy-to-carry, high-performance folder. Manufactured by lionSTEEL® exclusively for Spyderco, the Thyn™ faithfully retains the key defining features of its bigger brother. These include a full-flat-ground, drop-point blade crafted from Böhler-Uddeholm’s M390 particle metallurgy stainless steel, a crowned blade spine, ball-bearing washers for an ultra-smooth action, and both a flipper tab and Trademark Round Hole for a choice of one-hand-opening methods. Its unique one-piece handle is painstakingly machined from solid titanium using lionSTEEL’s SOLID® technology and protected by a durable gray physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating. The obverse side showcases a black-and-white fatcarbon® Dark Matter Polar Carbon Fiber inlay, while the reverse side houses a sturdy Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) mechanism with a long-wearing hardened steel interface. To ensure discreet, convenient carry, the handle thoughtfully includes both a generously sized lanyard hole and a butt-mounted, deep-pocket clip that is reversible for left- or right-side carry."[1]
