GIN-1/G-2

Jump to navigationJump to searchG2, aka GIN-1. A Hitachi-made low cost stainless steel comparable to, but slightly softer than, AUS-8. Generally hardened in the mid to high Rc 50s. A tough, corrosion-resistant steel (see the YSS graphic in this thread). Used considerably less by manufacturers recently, compared to years past.
