Information from the Spyderco catalog on the web

"The Lil’ Matriarch is built on the handles of Spyderco’s extremely popular Delica4 design. Their full skeletonized stainless steel liners provide an outstanding balance of strength and light weight, while their injection-molded FRN handles boast Bi-Directional Texturing™ for a superior grip in even the most demanding conditions. The design features a sturdy back lock mechanism that locks the blade securely in the open position and a Boye dent in the lock bar that helps prevent unintentional lock release. Screw-together construction and phosphor-bronze washers also ensure maximum precision and smooth operation.

The blade of the Lil’ Matriarch is hollow ground from VG-10 stainless steel and feature the signature Reverse “S” edge profile of the classic Civilian, which is scientifically designed to maximize cutting performance with all areas of its edge. When combined with Spyderco’s high-performance serration pattern, this edge style is also ideal for cutting flexible materials like netting, cord, and fishing line that often tend to elude conventional edges. Both Matriarch designs feature thicker points that are strategically shaped to nest discreetly into the knife’s handle in the closed position. Trademark Spyderco Round Holes provide positive one-handed deployment of the blades with either hand, ensuring that the user can get these knives into action quickly and reliably.

The four-position hourglass clip is adjustable for left or right-side tip-up or tip-down carry. Together with the lock operation and blade hole, this feature makes the Lil’ Matriarch completely ambidextrous and ideal for left-handed users or armed professionals who prefer support-side carry of their knives."
