A Bowie-Shaped Blade is named after Colonel James Bowie, nineteenth-century American pioneer, soldier, smuggler, slave trader, and land speculator. This name describes many blade variations, but consists of the primary cutting edge with a curved belly and a clipped point. The clip may be sharpened or not, and straight or concave.
