N690CO is an Austrian stainless steel, often mentioned as the equivalent of, or better than 440C. High value and performance with excellent corrosion resistance. Reportedly hardened to the high Rc50 range, so no surprise it's considered easy to sharpen. Currently found in Spyderco's Hossom knives and the recently discontinued Italian-made C99 Volpe.
N690Co consists of:
Carbon | Chromium | Cobalt | Copper | Manganese | Molybdenium | Nickel | Nitrogen | Phosphorus | Silicon | Sulfur | Tungsten | Vanadium |
